One of my favorite things to teach is contractions! We get to pretend to be surgeons and do an "operation" on our words to make them into a contraction. The students cut out the letters and then put them back together with a band-aid in the place of the apostrophe. We had a blast!
We had another friend move! We were so sad to lose another student. We are now down to 18 students! We will miss you buddy!
In science, we studied how to combine materials to build things. As a project, students got in small groups and had to build a bridge using a variety of materials. They had to work together to make a plan and build their bridge.
We had fun learning about Fact & Opinions in reading. We read an interesting non-fiction story about jellyfish. We continued 2 digit subtraction with regrouping in math. We are finally getting the hang of it!
